Cosmetic Fillings
Do you have a mouth full of silver? Or do you think you need a filling? Or even a broken tooth? Then we are here to help! We are an Amalgam free practice, so weather its for cosmetic or clinical purposes, we can get your mouth healthy and happy again!
COSMETIC RESTORATIONS
Amalgam, for many years was the most superior material for dental fillings, Until the modern composite was perfected. Silver fillings are unsightly and here at the composite bonding company, we love to help people smile again. Ask us about our amalgam to composite replacement treatments during your next visit. This is elective treatment and not clinically necessary, however will improve the aesthetics of your teeth.
CLINICAL RESTORATIONS
After an examination and radiographs (X-rays) you may be advised you need a restoration (Composite filling), we know that this can be scary, please rest assured it is a simple procedure. We book long appointments, to ensure we have time to make you comfortable during your appointment. Most restorations do need some local analgesia, we use surface numbing (where appropriate) to reduce the pain. Once you have been numbed up, your treatment is painless. You are able to drive and continue as normal, following our simple aftercare instructions. We do not provide sedation unfortunately, if you are extremely nervous a private referral can be made to a specialist (charges may apply).
DEEP FILLINGS/POSTPONING TREATMENT
We will always do a thorough examination and do further assessments where required to create your bespoke treatment plan. It is not possible to predict the outcome of treatment, in some cases large cavities may require extra treatment if they become problematic. We will advise you if a filling looks deep, if we feel you will benefit from a filling with extra protection we will advise you immediately and discuss the associated charges before continuing. In the unlikely event the tooth doesn't settle, we will refer you for a specialist opinion. Postponing or declining treatment that has been identified as essential, can cause the decay to get worse and may limit your options/cause pain or tooth loss. We don't offer emergency appointments (as this falls in to the bracket of things we refer for) If you are in pain or have swelling and need urgent care, please call 111.
Have Any Questions?
FAQ's
Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
DOES IT HURT?
In most cases, you will require an injection to numb the area prior to treatment. We use this approach to ensure you are comfortable during the treatment.
WHAT IF I DONT WANT TO HAVE THE FILLING?
Without removing the decay, you will have active disease. This will progress and eventually cause pain or tooth loss. If you are looking for cosmetic treatment you must be dentally fit prior to any cosmetic work?
WILL MY FILLING HURT AFTER TREATMENT?
A filling is like any other procedure, where you may have post-op sensitivity. We can’t predict if you will experience this but can advise you on how to manage it. This is completely normal. In some circumstances, you may need further treatment which will be discussed with you fully at your appointment.
WILL MY FILLING BE WHITE?
Absolutely, we only use white restorative materials.
HOW MUCH WILL IT BE?
Our prices start from £100 per filling, so depends entirely on how many fillings you need. Sometimes it may be necessary to add a little more protection to the tooth, in these cases we will discuss any associated charges and risks before going ahead.
